Horse Sauce 1996

It was San Diego, 1996. Pete, Marco, and the kid we just called Sauce. Pete and Marco could play. Sauce was the reason anyone came. This kid couldn't be tamed. Two musicians and a chaos engine. Drugs, missed gigs, an axe obsession and a tattoo he got in a men’s room that ended with a security guard evicting him from Texas Presbyterian Hospital. The other two kept showing up because his guitar hooks could wake up a junky. The horse on the shirt was a self portrait I found one morning next to vomit spray, a broken drum stick and a new urinal still in its packaging.  They were banned from three venues in the first month of the tour. "Seasoned Poison" is what a Reno promoter called them in a cease-and-desist. The letter started with "Whatever you are, you cannot return."
